Real Wedding DIY Touches :)
Do It Yourself touches are not only huge money-savers, but also an awesome way to personalize and set apart your special day! One of my besties, Jennifer, got married last July and she had some of the most beautiful DIY touches at her wedding!! She chose bright, summery pink and orange for her colors. The gorgeous broach on her bouquet belonged to her Great Aunt Rosa who shared Jennifer's love for jewlery. I LOVE the cake toppers! They were actually handmade by Mrs. Lottie, her Grandmother, about 55 years ago! Using family heirlooms is so wonderful and really adds that special touch. LOVE IT! The ring pillow was also handmade by Jennifer's Mother-in-Law. It was a cute way to incorporate the pretty pinks and oranges, as well as little strips of the fabric used to make the groom's pocket square. So presh. All of the food for the reception was prepared by family members (a great money saver!). They spiced up the fruit and veggies by using cookie cutters to create fun shapes and presentation. Jennifer and AJ's 1 year is this week :)

You might have the mason jars in your cabinent, or you can usually find them in bulk at yard sales or second hand stores. For a filler you can use anything from colored sugar crystals to sand or dirt. Personalize it to your wedding theme or venue.

Shabby-chic Engagement Session by AnnaK. Photography
These are some of the amazing photos that inspired me to blog! John and Lindsey are the most precious couple whose love for each other is so genuine. They both are very musically-talented and family-oriented. I love how they added special touches to their engagement session to make it unique. The hat John is wearing was Lindsey's great-grandfather's and the oragami hearts are handmade from pages of an old book. It's so simple to personalize your engagement pictures and it adds so much value and significance that will help keep your memories of that day forever. Be sure to check out http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/AnnaK-Photography/173108625638 She truly is amazing!
Bloggin'
Eeek! So excited for my first blog! I'm a hopeless romantic who's in love with weddings. I decided yesterday to test the waters in the wedding blog world. My roommate is an amazing entrepreneur who started her own photography business and is shifting her focus to weddings. After hours of conversation about wedding planning/decor and gushing over the photos of her latest engagement session, it made perfect sense to create a blog to contribute to wedding obsessions and share my craftiness and creative style with fashion-savvy bride-to-bes. I hope my blog helps you find inspiration and direction to make your wedding uniquely yours. Stay tuned for cute DIY projects, pocket-friendly tips, and ideas on everything wedding.
